What is it like to stroll through the streets of this city? Have you ever felt as though those eyes were constantly ogling you from head to toe? They continue to hurl insults at you because they know you will remain silent. Oh, because our society indoctrinated us in this manner.
You are not permitted to speak even if a relative gropes you since you must maintain your feminity. Therefore, if you utter a word about it, you have been tainted.
As a woman, you promised to maintain a relationship regardless of its poisonous nature; otherwise, you would have failed your marriage.
I am a fool in a society where a woman’s dignity resides in her body; even expecting my words would make a difference. However, society, I apologize; I will not overreact. Therefore, contaminate me with all you have.

Media: Mixed (pencil+ ink+ watercolor)

For the backdrop, I took inspiration from the painting “Broadway Boogie Woogie” by Piet Mondrian which depicts the grid of the city. Took me a lot to draw this because it’s my story. And I believe it’s the story of every woman out there.
